Yesterday Dan and I paid a visit to old Ellicott City in Maryland. We decided to go antiquing for the wedding (with a little bit of persuading on my part). We were trying to find old bottles, vases, and books for the centerpieces of our tables. Ellicott City has tons of antique shops and I am pretty sure that we went into every single one looking for pieces to buy. Unfortunately, we had a hard time finding some good deals on most things… However, we did luck out at Taylor’s Antique Mall on Main Street. They have tons of vendors and so each vendor has different prices and we got lucky with one who had a bunch of old medicine bottles for $1.00. We grabbed those and also purchased a couple of small cut glass vases and an old wooden cheese box. I am very excited to get all of this planning started. I know it is little, but it is a start!
Over the weekend, I had also visited my parents in St. Mary’s County, MD. There is a really great antique and vintage shop there as well. It is called the Vintage Source and every once in a while they hold a flea market. At the flea market there are several extra vendors that set up tents and sell their vintage and antique goods along with the store’s goods. They do have random knick-knacks and items for the home, but the store specializes in repurposing old furniture. They have some really fantastic pieces, but unfortunately, I do not own a house yet so I have little to no room for furniture :(. I did find some books and a couple of jars while at the Vintage Source with my mom. We will use them for our table arrangements for the wedding.
